You can reach Compound from your inbox by sending a message to frankie@getcompound.ai. The email body becomes the first message of a new chat, any attachments are imported as files, and the agent’s response is sent back to you by email.
How it works
Send to frankie@getcompound.ai. Compound picks up the email, creates a chat for it, runs the prompt, and replies to you. You can continue the conversation by replying to the agent’s email — each reply continues the same chat, so the thread you see in your inbox mirrors the chat in the web app.
When email is useful
- Quick questions away from the desktop — you don’t have to log in to the web app.
- Forwarding for analysis — forward a research note, transcript, or filing and ask a question in the body. The attachment becomes context for the agent.
- Looping the agent into a thread — Cc
frankie@getcompound.aion an existing thread and ask a question in the body. - Async work — send the agent a long-running task and check the result later from your inbox.
Routing the work to a specific Drive
By default, email chats land in your My Drive. To route the work somewhere else, just tell the agent in the body of your email:
“Do this in the Acme due diligence Drive.”
The chat will be created in that Drive instead. You can name any Drive you have access to.
This is especially useful when you’re working on a specific deal or research project — routing email work to the relevant Project Drive keeps everything in one place and isolates the agent’s context to that workstream.
What gets sent back
The agent’s email reply contains:
- A summary of what it did, in plain prose.
- A link to the chat in the web app, so you can dig in or keep iterating with the full UI.
- Any files the agent produced are available in the chat’s Drive — you can download them from the web app or from the chat’s file panel.
For long or complex analyses, the email summary is intentionally brief. Open the chat to see the full reasoning, the files, and the citations.
